• Details:  This A&P Coffee Tin Can is a wonderful collectible, becoming harder to find. It is a 1 pound key wind style can, (this style of opening cans started circa 1917 and it's still in use for some food items).  The bright red color, and old fashioned A&P letters makes this a wonderful can to display and a great collector's item!  This can is empty.

• Dimensions:  5.0 inches in Diameter and 3.5 inches Tall
• Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Condition.  We were unable to open the can and didn't want to force/damage it.  There are two minor dents, photographed for you.  There is can corrosion on the bottom, (not the same as rust) and a little bit of rust starting on the bottom edge.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. 

A&P (Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company), was an American chain of grocery stores.  Originally named "Gilman & Company", started in 1859 by George Gilman in New York City, as a small chain of tea and coffee stores in New York City.  They opened their first grocery store in 1912.  By 1930, the Hartford family, which managed and owned A&P, (by way of an unwritten partnership agreement where Gilman gave George Hartford, half of the company in 1878), had opened up almost 16,000 more stores. They went on to become the largest grocery retail in the US, (1915 through 1975).  At one time, they were the largest U.S. retailer of any kind.  They went out of business in 2015.
